Introducing myself

Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog! I will start by introducing me, so that you know me a little bit. My name is Ana Elena Lozano Ruiz, I'm 21 years old and I'm studying the Double Degree of Primary Education + English Studies. My hobbies are listening to music, reading and watching TV series, and by doing them I really enjoy my free time in a very relaxing way. In relation to geometry, I must say that I have always enjoyed the subject of Maths, and I even did the Scientific Baccalaureate higly motived by the fact that I would have it as one of the subjects. Therefore, I have high expectations in this course, as I would like to learn how to propely present this area of knowledge to children so that they learn about mathematics in an understandable, enjoyable way, and develop skills necessary to understand the mathematical aspects of the world we live in. The name of this blog comes form the area of knowledge of geometry, maths, and the initials of my name, A.E. Like that, combining them we obtain Maeths. I have to confess, I really like how it turned out. I hope that the different topics related to geometry that I will investigate, explain and reflect about will make you learn about this really interesting world that is mathematical knowledge and mathematical teachings. Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about an amazing way to work on geometry: art! It cannot be denied that art, one way or another, tends to implement geometrical elements. It can be something as simple as lines and points from more complex things as polygons and geometrical bodies. Being like that, it is only common sense to implement geometrical learning through artistic activities. Hello everyone!  To start this blog, I felt that I had to do so by introducing to you one of the resources that children are more used to: apps. Nowadays, learners have a constant access to technological devices, from mobile phones and tablets to computers. They are one of the most famous resources of entertainment in every age, and they have many positive points in what refers to children’s development if used correctly in educational situations. To highlight the most important ones: we can mention:  They promote motivation and enjoyment: apps are something interactive, in which the actions and manipulation of the user decide the progression made. Geometry through manipulative resources

Hello everyone! Today I bring you some manipulative resources that could be a big help for your students to learn geometry. As we know, learning is the best obtained when it supposes that the learner has to do something. Therefore, the implementation of resources that require activity and manipulation, basically that requires students to do something rather than just listening or watching, are key for our teachers to guarantee comprehension, engagement and significant learning in our geometry classes.
